"Prime Reef" Or "Formula One" which one?
Over the last 4 years I have used brine shrimp and mysis for my fish and seaweed for my tang, but I recently ran across these 2 types of food. the both contain veggies and seafood, but which one is the best. I have a small orange anthias, 2 saddleback clowns and one regal tang. It's a reef tank with everytype on coral also.(sps, lps ect.

They are made by the same company so it really doesnt mater. They are both great foods. I use Prime Reef flakes and use frozen Formula 1. As you can see below you get a little more from the formula 1.
This is what you will get from prime reef Guaranteed Analysis: Crude protein (min) 4.5% Crude fat (min) 1% Crude fiber (max) 2% Moisture (max) 92% This is from Formula 1 Crude Protein (min) 13% Crude Fat (min) 1.25% Crude Fiber (max) 0.5% Moisture (max) 85%

I like Prime Reef better just because it is easier to mash up than Formula 1 or 2.

My fish refuses to eat Prime Reef, only once in a month, a very small piece.
Formula One and Two - I tried only pellets and flakes, were accepted well, especially the green formula 2. Marine Cuisine was liked the most - in addition to other foods. |

Feed both for variety. The more varied the diet the better imo.

Both, and then some others. No reason not to offer variety.

I've used Ocean Nutrition's frozen foods for years (Enriched Brine, Prime Reef, Formula 1, Formula 2, VHP, etc). Within the past two years, OC has taken to adding too much gel binder to their frozen formula foods, making them too difficult to crush into edible size pieces. I still use the frozen Brine and Prime Reef, but I've gone to Formula 1 Flake Food and Formula 1 & 2 pellets and no longer buy the frozen Formula 1 & 2.
