ballast failure?

I currently have two 175w MH Coralvue ballasts on my 65g. Lately all my corals have been dying, ive been getting great algae blooms and I have no idea why. I run phosban, and my water params are good. Ive been through 2 sets of new bulbs and still nothing. Any one have an idea if it could be that my ballasts are shot even though they still light up? any info is welcome, please help....

I had something similair happed to me years ago when I was using PC lighting only..I finally realized that my ballast was bad and replaced it. It was obvious when I got the new ballast that old one wasnt as brite. It took me awhile to figure it out and by then I had a terrible hair alge problem but as soon as I got the new ballast it cleared up.
