To look at them they appear to be small underwater fans. They have an impellor and a closed back with multiple intakes. The main advantage they have over other power heads and wavemaker devices is they are very programmable and can start, stop, run at slow speed, and then modulate to full speed, and most importantly they provide flow volume of over 3000gal/hr each. I had 2 mag7s on scwds previously. The flow from my pair of turbelles is a quantum leap above the scwd system.
