want to buy a new camera.
I have a nikon n65 right now. I only have 1 lens with it. My question is. What would be the better upgrade. Nikon d80 or canon rebel xti? What does everyone think?

I looked at both those cameras (and more) and ended up getting a Olympus e-330 with a 14-45 and 40-150 lens. I also ordered the Zuiko 35mm lens (film equivalent 70mm, and can get capture 2:1) and I came out a little cheaper then getting the XTi with the Kit lens. The Olympus also seems like it is more solid than the Nikon or Canons I picked up also. They are worth atleast checking into.

I think when looking at entry level DSLR like these. The most important thing is feel. Go to a store and play with all of the above one that you like.
Now when you start getting in Nikon D80, Cannon 30D etc and up. The bodies and size really changes. Also you start adding on a lot of features, that more than likely you will never notice. As far as the origiall ?? I am a cannon man, so I have a rebel. My only problem with is......or wait better to put it. Is it's only problem with me my lack of usable skills....LOL learning but still so far behind. IMO......I would go with one two listed Cannon for me. Maybe used if you can. Then spend some good change on some nice glass. This is where you will see the biggest difference. A good walkaround/zoom lens and a nice macro to start out. HTH Tim
