flow for mushrooms

i have a 65 tall, 3 feet long, purples and hariy shrooms. they are low on the rock. The hairys 18" down, the purples 12" down in the tank. I have no flow but my return, approx 300 gals per hour, returning at the surface of the water. If i get more corals they will need more flow, but whenever i put a maxi 1200 right at the surface, the shrooms always get blown away and curl up, any suggestions?

Have you given them a day to get used to it? You might find that they just need to acclimate to the greater current.

I've found that mine will look the same if I change the flow, but the get used to it and hold themselves down around the edges after a while. I'd try not to blow heavy current directly at them, but they get used to being pushed around.
