flesh loss on brain, any tips?

my open brain hasent open for about a week and think it will die soon. I have it protected in a 2 liter bottle top, and have been giving it frozen brine and mysis, but it refuses to take it, and its turning white, and in one part the flesh is gone, also the tissue on the bottom of him has turned brown. What can i do? He is on the substrate of my 2 foot tall tank, i recenlty switched to 4x95 URI VHO.

Sounds like it is to late. I have read that open brains are sensitive to low iodine levels, and will bleach because of it. Maybe your iodine is low, and the switch to new lights caused the problems.

I had the same problem a week after introducing a Sailfin Tang into the tank, he was picking at it. It seems the Tangs like to pick at the fleshy green parts. Also you should locate the brain lower into the aquarium, they don't like alot of light! GOOD LUCK
