Drip System for new additions...

I've been hearing about people using a drip system for new fish and coral, but have no clue how to construct one. Can someone explain this to me and does anyone have any pictures? Thanks!

I have a line T'd off my return plumbing. On the end of this 3-4 foot section of hose there is a valve. I simply barely crack the valve open, water drips out into the bucket containing the new arrival sitting next to the tank.

I also use this hose to do my water changes...just open the valve all the way and the old water fills up a bucket in seconds. I use a big powerhead to pump new water back into the tank. Quick and easy and no siphons needed.

Well you can always go the not so elaborate way just use a length of airline tubing long enough to go from the front of your tank to a bucket on the floor tie a slight not in it to regulate water flow the slower the better.

I float the bag with the fish or whatever in my sump, and do like Village Idiot says and use a hose and valve and let it drip into the bag for about 1-1 1/2 hrs keep checking on it as it fills up remove so the bag doesn't overflow than remove the fish or whatever and place in the tank.

A length of air tubing and the air valve from a maxijet works great and the drip rate is highly adjustable.

I use an IV line which has a flow regulator on it. Where are you in Gainesville? You can have one of mine if you want to pick it up.

Along with dripping, it's important to measure the SG along the way, since the endpoint of the drip needs to be very close to the tank's SG. That usually means removing some water from the bag or bucket from time to time.
