snail ID please
I'm wanting to work on a proper cuc but I don't know what I have to begin with.
Started with 1 from the LR 4 months ago. Now I probably have anywhere between 15 and 20 ranging from 3mm to 1cm in length. They're probably common but I can't find anything on the net that looks like them. THanks bros! |

Your snails are columbellids, known as "Dove Shells," and are generally considered to be nice guys. You may have more than one species, although the species in this family can be quite variable.

Diver-I thought possibly nassarius as well, but I read some where they typically will not reproduce in a tank (Don't know if that's true or not) and the color just didn't look right. These guys are reproducing pretty fast.
Thanks for the info Don. I googled and found a pick. The picture I found is spot on to the little guys in my tank. thanks again bros |
