Question Trickle Filter Size/capacity

Hi,

I am about to strip down my 420(US) gallon system and rebuild into a fish only setup. All my live rock (about 150kg) will be going in and the sand bed will only really be a light 1-1 1/2 inch covering in the main tank.

To supliment the rock I want to use a trickle tower possibly discharging over a plenum, but the question is what capacity should the trickle filter be? Circulation between my tank and sump will probably be via my MAK5 pump and the fish load will probably be quite high in time.

Is there a particular calculation I can use or any other theory on flow and capacity. I've dug around the net for a while now but have go no further.

Thanks,

Cam.
