Conversion Help

OK folks need some help. Background is that we have Nudis on on our Monties and have decided to go with the Potassium Permagonate Trial (http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-09/eb/index.php).

Now onto the problem:
Ok folks need some conversion help. I have a 3 gallon bucket to use for the Potassium Permagonate soak. Acording to Eric Bornman's Artical a resonaable mix would be 50mg KMnO4 dissolved in 1000ml aquarium water for 1.5 - 2 hours. My conversion of the water is easy 3 gallons of water = 11,356 ml or 11 doses at 50mg. Problem is figuring out how much powder (teaspoon, 1/8 teaspoon etc) 550 mg equals.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Clint
