7100K vs 10000K
i bought a daylight PC lamp that was supposed to be 10000K but out of the box it said 7100K on the bulb. should i return it or is the difference not a big deal. superficially the tank looks fine in regard to the color.
will corals grow better under the 7100K or the 10000K what about coralline growth? thanks.

In my experience, you will see more growth under 65/71k lighting thank 10k. Again, this is what I have experienced.
If your happy with the color, there shouldn't be a big problem. |

It sounds to me like the lamp was mis-labeled. 7100 PCs are very blue in color and don't look so good by themselves. It would be obvious. 7100s are used with daylight 10Ks or 6700 PCs to add a little blue color. My soft corals and LPS do very well under a combination of 10Ks and 7100s.

well it is definitely not a blue light, but whatever the case i'm happy with it. as long as the corals don't show regression i'll leave it in.
