Christmas Decorations? It's the First Part of October!

The nurses inform me that Wal-Mart and K-Mart have festooned their aisles with Christmas decorations. I thought it was stupid when they appeared at Halloween, but this is ridiculous.

Scrooge

I worked at a grocery store for 4 years, haved this time of year, aboot right now they atarted christmas music and it would go on till Dec 30th. No one should have to listen to Chiristmas music that much. Actually made me not like the holiday nearly as much, in the 7 tears i've been away from it I am finally starting to get back to loving the season

I was at lowes and saw christmas trees, and we ended up buying a nice fake white one. Iam just waiting for the real trees to get out there now.

Wait 1 to 2 weeks after thanksgiving for a live tree

I wonder if i'll put mine up this year. the cat loves pulling the ornamints off it

Beauties of a small town -

The first year we moved here our apartment had 20' ceilings. Went to a local/side of the road guy. Spoke with him and he said he had the perfect tree for us. $30. He had to go out and cut it, but he would deliver to our home and if we didn't like it, he would come get it and refund our money. It was a great tree.

Every year now, we go to the guy, pay our money and tell him when we want it. He cuts it and brings it straight to our house. Always get great fresh tree's.

I saw them also at Lowes.

There was a little girl playing with one of those annoying singing Santas. I ripped it out of her hands and chopped it up on the power miter saw I was thinking of buying.

It's especially bad down here when it's still 90+ degrees. Sure gets you in the Holiday spirit.

Yeah it does get you in the spirit, but then when you walk outside and its 90 degree's you go back to reality real quick.

Advice taken, as i have made the mistake of buying a real tree to soon and boy does it suck cleaning the little needles up.

This drives me nuts. Why can't they at least wait until after Thanksgiving to put up the decorations?

What happened to the good 'ol days?

Halloween stuff didn't show up in the stores till the middle of October
Thanksgiving stuff didn't show up in the stores till the middle of November.
And you didn't even think about Christmas stuff till after the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving day.

Now they try and stuff it down our thorats months in advance.

I sure miss the good 'ol days when the holidays were simple.

I better start watching the sales papers because I am sure they will start closing out the winter coats out pretty soon and putting up the spring & summer apparel! This IS getting a little crazy!
