What's a BMT?

So, a vendor did one of those drive-by lunch things today at my office, and as a result, I am eating a "BMT" from Subway at the moment.

It has two or three different kinds of meat (turkey, salami, that sorta stuff looks like), cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives, and onions. My question is, why the BMT label? What does it stand for?

Although, other versions say "Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit" (since the "subway" franchise was based upon an actual "subway" system).

The "biggest, meatiest, tastiest" label may be a more recent marketing incarnation.

I was hoping it would be a Princess Bride reference, alas (as evidenced above) when I bit into the sub it was not filled with bacon, mutton, and tomatoes.

Does the vending machine know that you are seeing "someone else"?

Shush Brian! The vending machine is probably wired up to the internets and trying to find out why I didn't visit today.

I believe that it is a bacon, mutton, and tomatoe sandwich. Where the mutton is nice and lean, they are so perky, I love that.

brooklyn-manhattan transit is right, I used to be a gm for subway and that was one of the most common questions asked.

i used to be a M for subway, and that is definitely the most FAQ. BMT = Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit, an actual subway line in NYC.

BMT? My wife had one of those. It's Blood and Marrow Transplant. I wouldn't eat it.
