Helfrich Firefish?

Anyone have experience with them? Do they do well in an active tank? How well do they eat? Any help will be appreciated. My LFS is getting one in and they asked if I wanted them to hold it for me.

Cool fish. They act like the other firefish. They are easy to get to feed and are hardy. In an active tank, they will stay near the bottom and rockwork to quickly dart back in for cover if needs be.

They are well known jumpers. If you don't have a lid/canopy, then save your money for another fish.

jda, thanks for the response. Tank is well covered. I already have a Mystery Wrasse I don't want to loose. I think I'm gonna give it a try. Expensive little fish, wanted to check it out first.

Careful with semi aggresive fish. My wife rearranged our rockwork and all the fish staked out new territories. The firefish still hasn't found hers and hasn't eaten in 2 days. Just lays on the bottom in a corner. Also working in the tank really freaks her out, but they are great little fish though.

I have 3 crazy Tangs that feed like a pack of sharks. But my tank is large with lots of hiding spots for small fish so that should help.

I never had to the stones to buy a helfrichi with an open topped tank, but my tangs never bothered my normal firefish. Perhaps they don't view them as competition.

Picked one up for 40.00 and it lasted for 3 days. Just disappeared only later to reappear as a strand of fish flesh. I was bummed to lose such a beautiful fish.
