psuedochromis with flakey scales

I purchase a purple psuedochromis a month ago. after getting him home I noticed he had some small ich spots on him. after a few days of feeding garlic enriched foods, the ich was gone. he's been as healthy as a horse until yesterday. now, his scales are really white and flakey. he appears to be shedding. he is still eating good and seems to be as active as ever. is this something that psuedochromis go through? or is something wrong with him?
