Okay to let heater touch glass?

Hey all,

I've got a heater sitting inbetween the baffles in my sump. Is it okay to have this touching glass (baffles, bottom/sides of tank)? Should the water flow be enough to keep it cool?

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you have decent flow. Mines been against the glass for years.

I would be worried if the heater was laying against glass that was exposed to air on one side such as the sides of a tank. But if the baffle that it is laying against has water on both sides of it, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
