I think he meant that you only have 10 days to go before you hit 14 days (2 weeks)

That could be.

I just finished painting the walls, platform and support system. Everything is gloss white.

Once the tank is in place, the edge of the wall on the left will be visible through the side panel, especially when viewing it from the kitchen side. So I bought a small can of black exterior gloss paint to cover the 4.5" x 30.5" area that would be seen. I will probably not clean the glass on that end, and didn't want a white vertical stripe showing through the glass.

Or perhaps I'll have the opportunity to take pictures from that side, assuming I have the room and equipment out of the way. I will cover the area of the side panel that is in the fish room with black acrylic or cellocast (black plastic sign material). That way I can remove it when necessary.

For those that are going to help move the tank tomorrow, the time has changed from 10:00am to 2:00pm. I apologize for the inconvenience, but due to a family emergency I cannot access the home where the tank is until 2:00pm.

Here's a couple of pictures, now that it has been painted.

And the CPVC is now supported finally. I'll probably add more brackets later. How could I insulate these? They hug the wall and the brackets would be too small. Is there any need since they won't be exposed to the elements?

Once the tank is in place, I can go ahead and put up the new walls that will isolate the room from the garage area. More sheetrock, more tape & bedding, more painting... and I guess more wiring too. Might as well make the wall handy.

This project is awsome. Great job melev. I just read the entire thread, I cant believe how fast its going.

I noticed a discussion on foam for under the tank, Has anyone thought about using a auto gasket, like the ones you would use on a pickup truck under the cab on the back. I was taking about this the other day with a friend. Just a suggestion.

In reference to insulating the pipes, if need be you could just cover them with the duct insulation padding stuff couldn't you? Just a thought.

If your fish room is going to be insulated and temp controlled via your heating and a/c duct. I wouldn`t think there would really be any need to insulate the pipes would there? I mean if the temp in your fish room got low enough to freeze those pipes I think you would have other worries on your hands. Mainly a freezing reef tank.
Will your hot water tank be in this room also? Or just in the garage part? If not in the room you may just want to insulate that part of the pipe.

I really have nothing left to do at this point. All the important stuff is done and it is ready for the tank tomorrow.

The water heater will be in the garage section. I may try to wrap the hot water pipe and use larger clamps to keep the pipe in place. That way there won't be heat emanating from the pipe and increasing heat in the sump area (maybe?).

Looks great, your my hero getting all that done in record time and it still looks great. Mine would probably look like a ghetto cruiser type of wall if I did it that quickly.

That's a sweet tank mate, what type of corals are going to call this home? SPS? Mixed?

Cheers Josh

Thanks, y'all.

Majesticangelfish, I currently have two mixed tanks, a 29g and a 55g. You can see them both on my site. Just click on the little red house above this post.

Pretty much. I have too many clowns, and I think I'll not put in the blue damsels... I don't know, the tank is huge and maybe there won't be any issues.

This was very aggravating. I already cleaned up everything, and just needed to put a final coat of black paint on the edge of the opening that faces the tank wall. So I wouldn't splatter the platform, I put a section of newspaper there to catch any drips. When I set down the full quart of black paint on the newspaper, it fell right through the overflow box opening and dumped 90% of the contents all over the concrete, the new white paint on two walls, and the door entering the garage from the kitchen.

For what should have taken 2 minutes tops, I ended up spending over any hour trying to clean up that black morass. The tint in that stuff is not to be toyed with, I assure you.

It could have been worse, I suppose. I could have dropped the can on my carpeting.... I repainted the stained areas, and the floor looks better.

You really should insulate the hot water line for efficency reasons but if you can't then you can't. Do you think you can get 1/2" from between the wall and the pipe? If so you can use Armaflex pipe insulation 7/8"x1/2"wall and that would work. I really think it would be ok considering your location altho during the cooler months you will notice it take just a tad longer to get hot water, I guess you could just look at your tank while you wait. ( It really won't take that long, maybe 10 sec depending on the length of the run. )

Looks awesome Marc

John, I'm sure I can insulate it/them (all the pipes). I'll just need a different type of clamp that will allow for the larger diameter pipe & foam.
