Because thay were just one company at one time and when AMS left thay allso own pumps that were used so ER had to buy the pumps from them.

I dont think that is true. AFAIK, ER and ASM were never the same company. It is an unfounded rumor. Also, I can buy a Sedra and I have never been a part of either ASM or ER. I would assume ER buys Sedra pumps from Sedra.

Thanks for the great information and links. Time to start saving up. I personally like the Eheim pumps better.

Get a Deltec or H&S. Both are GREAT skimmers with Eheim pumps. They both have sponsor forums here that you can check out and ask questions. Cant go wrong either way. I'll be getting the ER RS250 just for budget reasons. I think its a good value in that size skimmer.

Deltec AP851

H&S A200-1260

Came home late tonight to find the tank lights off. AquaController was showing a 1996 date. Must have lost power and the battery was low. Although it keeps my custom programs, I have had a problem in the past with the date getting lost.

Once the date is set, the lights come on. Found my Allen's Damsel dead on the floor. Still moist, with faint color. Tried to wash water over the gills but got no response.

.

Then noticed a rock in the tank that has a clam attached slipped a bit from the structure -- clam was still attached hanging upside down. Not sure what could have moved a rock that has been stable for 16+ months

Rich, that happened to me a week ago. I'm probably going to buy me a UPS just for the Aqua Controller II.

Is this a known issue? Seems silly that all the programming stays fine, just the clock time is lost.

While Curt has stated that it is an isolated case, when I brought it up in my thread last MACNA, at least 6 people replied with similar experiences. I just replaced my battery two nights ago, but I doubt it'll keep the time & date if there is a power glitch.

Picked up three Dispar Anthias today. I think they were mismarked. I got all three for $32. Looked nice and plump, not eating yet. They just arrived at the LFS.

Been fine now that its dropping into the 50's at night. Drawing in that cool air at night keeps the room around 72 and the tank has been about 80 to 81 with lights off. And around 84 with lights on. Still warmer than I want, but I haven't had to turn off the halides for heat issues in a while.

Still saving up for the skimmer. I want to see if ER releases updated models at MACNA.

At least you have the winter to save the duckets and research a new skimmer!

Knobby Sea-Rod Gorgonian last pictured in December 2005:

Same colony nine months later:

This is a favia I got from IMAC in April 2006 which was sliced on a tile cutting saw:

This image shows it four months later:

The growth pattern of the last one looks more like a prostrata. My milles seem to grow into themselves more than that, that has a more of a stag type growth pattern. Real nice either way!

Got myself my new skimmer. Went shopping on eBay today and got a brand new in the box EuroReef RC-500 skimmer for just a little more than I was going to pay for a RC-250.

Yeah, I know its a monster of a skimmer but I'll put it to good use. Gives me plenty of room to expand later on.
