Future Fish Room Update!

Here is a photo of the new fish room in our new house. They have started constructing that part now. It's not going to be used only for a fish room, but I'm calling it that =)

Our original goal was to get a 240 in wall on the left hand side... but that's not going to happen right now. Maybe eventually...

Looks like you have room for a 1000g system instead!

It would be so much easier to plan for it now though - instead of having to tear it down later just to make room for an in-wall.

Oooo - idea! Instead of an in-wall, how about just a "WALL TANK"! Just going along with melev's idea.....

It's planned for, that's what that space is for. Nothing to tear down except to cut the hole.. and the builder wouldn't leave a whole in the wall bc it wouldn't pass inspection. We have a dedicated circuit run to the spot.

Wall Tank would be awesome! =)

If he made the wall with a window in it, include a header, it would pass I bet.

Yea they could do that or put a "panel" up but they wanted an absurd amount of money to do it so we passed on it.

Then don't worry about it. You can buy your own SawsAll and go to town as soon as they are done.

I couldnt get them to make me an office for my house. That was the original plan have them make an office and one day I cut ahole in it. trust me it is easier than making a hole room in your house. too much dust. That is a nice size fish room. I would just try and get some plumbing and electrical.

I know some GC's can be a pain in the butt. They almost ripped out all my data and speaker wires that I ran extra in the house wile they were building. I was lucky and got the to keep all the low voltage stuff.

That 1000 gallons sounds nice.hahahhah

Thanks! The electrical will be there it's going to have it's own circuit. I also had them install greenboard on the wall it will be on to help with the mold/humidity. The only thing that won't be done is the actual hole. My bf rehabs houses, he knows how to do that stuff so it won't be a big deal for us to do. It's going to be a long time from now, if ever so I wouldn't have done it anyway through the builder.

Maybe one day =)

I'm starting to doubt your commitment to this upgrade.

Sounds like your builder doesn't like variations

It's not hard to frame out and gyprock over the hole to pass final inspections.

How are the inhabitants of your tank going?, I know your not doing much, just curious about ocean and the others.

Cheers

Chris

Hehehe =) Well, new bedroom set or 240g. Hmmmm... we've been living off one dresser for like six years now... I think it's time for a bedroom set!

I mean the 240g isn't going to happen right now bc of the cost... so we are trying to figure out what to do. I can't keep Ocean in a 75g forever, and it's stupid to buy a 120g then get rid of it in a few years for the 240g.. so at this point I don't even know what to do!

Ocean is doing great thanks! =) The only problem I have had with my 75 is my six line disappeared. I don't know if he died, or he's just been hiding.. hard to see through all of the coraline. I am waiting until I have WC water available then I am going to scrape it all off and work on it. Once I do I'll post some new photos.

My zoas are spreading like crazy.. as are my mushrooms. They are everywhere. I lost my pinks birdsnest, the bleaching was just too much for it to come back from I guess. My clowns now host the RBTA.

My mandarin now eats sinking pellet food... so he's incredibly fat! After all that trouble to get the pods going.. he likes pellets lol.

Thanks for asking!

Nothing wrong with a Mandarin that likes two different foods.

True. He will even eat flakes sometimes and a few others.. but he def loves the sinking stuff. If I can get a good look at him I'll snap a photo.

Thursday Update!

The water for the WC is ready and all I need to do now is get motivated. The brackets for my nanostreams broke again... but Tunze is sending me out their new updated design. Hopefully that will work.

We were out at the new house today for the electrical walkthrough. We selected where we wanted to put the dedicated circuit for the fish room. I am trying to get motivated for that too. Still thinking about a 125 in-wall for that space since the 240 is not going to happen for quite awhile. I don't want to get a 180 I would get the 240 if we did that.... so it's either the 125 for now or keep the 75 and find Ocean a new home which I really don't want to do. I was thinking the 125 would last Ocean a few years until we could upgrade to the 240.

We also put up our xmas tree tonight =)
