Are the Euroreef sedra 3500 pumps any different then the ASM sedra 3500?

Wow! I've been around this thread since the beginning I think and to tell you the truth this is the most action and quickest replies I have seen. ER Tech seems to be doing a great job. Congrats.
I can't wait to see what comes out of ER in the future. I hope that the industry (all companies) come out w/ something amazing in the future. Lunchbucket

PM Stop
This should be an open forum unless privacy is required! It degrades the value of this forum to have private answers to public questions. PS I like euro reef and have found there service to be excellent.

Well, I agree. And thats all up to RC. If they start to allow ER to post again in this thread, we'd have much more info available.
I also think that if RC would grant ER the ability to mod their own forum, we'd probably still have an ER forum to go to. Jim

Perhaps we can find out what all these PMs are about when we see Euro-Reef at MACNA this fall.

Yeah I forgot that they couldn't post in this thread due to not having their own forum or something. They got rid of their forum due to a lot of flaming and other distracting rubbish. I hope someday they can have a forum back

Hey everyone, while I'm here I'd figure I'd ask and see if someone can help me. I took apart my Sedra 5000 pump to clean it. Took out the needle wheel impeller and found two extra white bushings. I don't know in what order the parts go back into the pump in. I have the impeller, then on top of that are two white bushings on the top of the impeller. Where do the other two bushings/washers go? Do they go in the pump first and then the impeller? Or do the two extra white washers go on top of the ones already on top of the impeller? Any help would be appreciated.

And I agree with sjm. ER tech1 has been extremely helpful since he arrived. ALL ER owners should be thankful to at least have attention from the factory in this thread. After all the flaming that went down in the old ER forum, we're lucky they didn't pull out all together. Thanks ER tech! Jim

Carefully reinstall it so as not to break the ceramic shaft.

Forgot to mention though that I still won't be able to use my skimmer for another week even when I get my pump back together. The original uniseal that came with the skimmer that seals the hole that the outlet tubing from the pump goes into the body of the skimmer was siliconed in place because the hole they drilled was too big. The uniseal has since become too hard and stiff over the last three years or so to do me any good so I ordered another one from ER and it won't be here until next Friday

I have a CS8-3 skimmer. I have the gate valve mod for it now. How high up should I put the horizontal piece? Even with the union, below, or above? I am thinking below because the gate valve will make the water higher. If the horizontal piece was higher then I would not have much adjustment. Am I correct?

I ordered mine a few years ago for my CS6-1 but didn't have the room. I bought this CS8-3 really cheap and the drain size is the same. You could always make yours I bought mine for $40. I cannot remember wear. You could probably google it.
