I believe a perimeter alarm would also be a great idea, ya know, just so nobody can get close enough to trip over a power cord and fall into the tank, crushing their skulls and scratching the glass with bone fragments...

Actually, maybe you should silicone another plate of glass to the front (just for back-up). From the look of that bulkhead work, you're better with it that Dr. 90210!

JGarrison I think your doing a great job. I'm in the process of building my first reef aquarium myself after playing with fresh water setups for a while. I would like to see some updates if you have time. Big pictures preferrably. My setup will probably not be as impressive as yours but I plan on documenting mine as I go as well. Thanks for sharing.

Negative posts were not necessary here. I've noticed several negatives come from people too lazy to check their spelling, and some who maintain larger systems (above 100 gallons!) More water makes it easier to maintain. A real challenge is having the guts to post on this overly critical forum. People I've described here are the reasons I rarely post.

DSB and BB have started "post wars" of whose right and whose wrong. For every methodology, someone is successful with the exact opposite of what is "protocol". I would love to see mature posts, compliments, or questions. So what if you disagree, I'm not interested in reading your opinion. I'm interested in what people can accomplish on their own. His wood working skills are awesome, and his dedication to this project despite foul posts partnered with idiotic comments is commendable.

I hate to be everyone's daddy, but if you have nothing nice to say, please keep it to yourself, or stop reading this thread.

Personally, I am confused by how your system works but that is because I am new to the hobby. I think that if your design works, that is great! Also, I would not worry about those who are negative and mock your ability to design a complex system when they can't even spell and their occupations says unemployed ha-ha. I am pretty sure we have no one on here making posts that are one of the aquarium of the month winners. GOOD LUCK!

I agree with smcnally. It is funny how a lot of people talk sh%$ on post. I died laughing I was reading one from melev and some kid said something stupid and just negative and he replied get out of my thread kid..and he never popped back up..I laughed my a$$ off. I really do want to see this thing with water.
