In a saltwater dip using the dosage on the lugols container, if they are fuzzing out with a fungus.

You did the dip already with freshwater for nudi's, right?

I just reread everything. I see why you dipped.

I kind of like to do saltwater dips witha strong lugols dose for fungus problem. I think the freshwater is more effective with critters that are eating the zoanthids.

I would think they have been stressed alot today, so I would cut that time down to about a quarter. It says 10 to 15 minutes. I would think you would get any antiseptic value after 3-4 minutes

I just wanted to share some pictures of the mess that came out of 15 of my Zoa rocks.

This is the only Nudi I found along with a snail and the poor Acro crab

What a mess

The stuff in the bottom of the bucket

Anyone know what type of crab this is?

A close-up of the mess

I'll post the statues of my Zoa later.

Wow bob21115, what a great photographic documentation of the dipping process and the results. Two thumbs up from me my friend.

I have no idea what type of crab that is. I have never seen one like him before.

All the best.

WOW! now THAT is a lot of stuff!!!

When I dip mine I never see anything at all. Then again, I have only been in the game for about 4+ months and I buy super small frags so that could be why.

Planning on getting myself a bright white container so I can see everything close up.

Thanks for sharing those pics.

I used new 8 drops suggestion of Kent Marines Lugol's Solution per gallon of fresh water. Heres a link.
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...1&N=2004&Nty=1

I think using more Iodine stressed the zoa's a little more. I lost alot of Poly's and some still arn't open.

Soaked for 5 min sook for 1 min.

This is the first time I've dipped my Zoa's.
I dipped because I bought 5 wild collected Zoa rock and a few of the other rocks had polyp's that wern't opening.

Funny things is the cheap wild caught rock opened up in a few hours. Luckily I didn't dip the expensive one's.

Thanks. Great job for first time. Is that method safe for Marine fish? What about inverts? You should keep that unkown crab.

Could this dip be used as a preventative measure for any corals being introduced to your system?
