Dan you sneaky little rat...j/k nice Undy! Curious as to what the experiment is all about? I just picked up a much bigger tank, it'll be in on the 29th details at the reap.

Yeah, I'm a sneaky bastage! The only fish I can think of that is home in a small tank is an undulate. Experiment is a side by side refugium (which mine isn't, but I will try to get close) where I don't have to change water or skim. Feeding also changed to once every 3rd day vs. 3x Every day! Has real ocean sand that I hauled in and had a variety of plants, but the undulate buried them. Ahhhh undys! So far so good. The care free tank!

Nice. That CT looks pretty big. How does the BF Angel do with it in tank?

Thanks danorth!

plankton,

I have a 40gal Rubbermaid tub that I use to QT.....I have some rock in it, a heater, a Fluval 304, and a powerhead for water movement. I usually QT for about 3 weeks to a month. I just check for the usual - ich, pop-eye, tattered fins, red around the gills, and treat accordingly. As for this Passer Angel, I didn't have to treat for anything....she came in very good shape....took her about a week to start eating though......

Hope this helped answer your question.

rnelson, you're amazing. How can you tell that fish is a girl? JK, I know the term "she" or "girl" is generally used with random objects.

Hi plankton
I saw the picture of your Queen A, i am just curious. Why is it's all yellow like that. the part where it should be blue is pink? Is it becuase of the camera or real fish is like that? I saw adult Queen A in the lfs, they have more blue than that. I have a Baby one, i am just curious how they will turn out to be. If you dont' mind me asking, what do you feed it everyday?
thanks,

Sorry for answering for Plankton, but my friend used to own that same queen. We wondered if it might be some cross or hybrid with a Blue angel. Definitely the most yellow queen Ive seen before.

lessans,

Thanks.....I know what you're saying about the use of "she", but I actually know it's a girl because male Passer Angels have white pelvic fins, females have yellow. Plus, she's wearing makeup

Does anyone know how eels propel themselves? Please explain if time permits.

well to me. if it makes any sense. They swim like snakes so the bodily motion (or S motion) pushes water propeling them forward. Uhh its hard to explain. I don't know if this is right but only a guess. Its like when you fold your arm out and move it like a snake under water and how it moves water that would propel you forward. Geez this is probably confusing. oh well

Well, I just turned my Tropical Fish calendar to July and this month's feature animal is the French Angelfish. What an extraordinary specimen. The picture consists of a pair of them just swimming along. What is the average temperature along the Western Atlantic coast where this fish lives. Is this considered a cold-saltwater fish?

there were French angels that were at least 2 ft long all over the Bahamas last time I was there -

water temps were warm - about 76-78
