I had one of those in Nam.
I diden't collect him, he collected me. I pulled some schrapnel out of his sides and tail and he stayed with me for a few months. I also had one of these BTW Jar*Head, this was my dress uniform Last edited by Paul B; 11/22/2007 at 12:14 PM. |

I guess he was. He was about 3" long and spent most of his free times sitting on a warm Howitzer, likt this one.
The duck was the best pet I ever had. A little Vietnamese kid had him hanging from his feet on his bicycle for dinner no doubt and I felt sorry for him. I gave the kid a few bucks and took the duck. He stayed by my side the entire year. I couldn't walk away from him. He would run after me and when I stopped, he would sit on my feet. I had to leave him with someone whenever I had to go and do something where I thought he would make too much noise. I flew in a helocopter every few days and when he came with me, I had to hold his wings down because he would start flapping whenever we took off. I also had a spider monkey but they are vicious and really need to be kept in a jungle |

So your wing man was a duck. When i was in the Sandbox in Jan 2003-Jul 2003 i used to have a chicken lol. A little kid trade it with me for a bag of MRE. I had him for almost 6 months. He die because the trailer ran over IED... I was sad cuz my wing man was trapped inside the MRE box .
Very nice dress uniform Paul. I don't put on that dress uniform very often except for the Marine Corps Ball. Honestly, i hate dress uniform. It is so uncomfortable... Paul, the canon look small compare to the new Howitzer...

Jar*Head, it was small because it was a 102 Howitzer. WE had 6 of them which we had to use every night and we moved a lot. There are very few roads in Nam so everything came by chopper. We could lift these guns with a CH47 but for the larger guns we used a flying crane like this.
Everything including ammo, food, water and replacements came by helocopter. http://www.fwb2.homestead.com/ I crashed twice but diden't get hurt much. Here is a site where I also was. You can see Fire Support Base Illingsworth from the air. We were attached and fought for 6 hours here. We lost a lot of us but this was the battle that allowed us to go into Cambodia. I was the Commo Chief |

Here's my Dane, BB. She's 6 years old but this photo is from a couple years ago:
This one is a really old shot. She should be nicknamed "The Intimidator" for this one. And this is my other Dane, Taylor. We don't know how old she is. And this is me with Captain Don: |

Shyla is a beautiful pup. I remember when my ridgeback was that young and so cute. Now she's just big and scary to most people. I hope yours is smarter than mine. I didn't buy the warrenty and should have
Nice tatts and I bet the Christmas party was rockin if you can wear a wife beater out to it.

Shyla is to smart for her own good...she can escape from her crate in a metter of seconds and she knows how to manipulate Jenny with her little pouty eyes to get a cookie! She just came out of her first heat the other day, im tryin to get her spayed right now but cant seem to afford it.
Actualy what you cant really see in that picture from before the christmas party is my suit shirt and jacket in my hand. I was runnin a bit late. It was in Black Hawk out in Danville...its a super rich gated community. Houses there are between 2.5 - 10 million. The year before Jenny and I were sent to Vegas and had a paid weekend at Mandalay Bay, now that was a rockin christmas party! How big is your ridgeback? The breeder said Shyla would be 85-95 lbs but i think she may actually make 100. Her dad is 110lbs and her mom is 95-100lbs

Just going through the pictures hard drive, and came across these. The first is my favorite of Angela at our wedding in May '05. The second is her with Leukemia in October of the same year, right between the latest chemo and her bone marrow transplant. They let her out of the hospital temporarily so she could have an early holiday with family.
(BTW, she's doing great now. Just passed 2 years remission. ) The first thing I noticed is that I have a lot more tattoos now and my hair is finally starting to grow back!
