James found the lime on the shelf at Wal-Mart really cheap. Don't know if they have any more or if they have it in your area. You might want to give them a call and check.

this place has all the HTF sps and other nice corals. kinda pricey, but they are the most sought after in the hobby~!

I get all of my lime at the Crestview Wal-Mart. I have a few jars on stand by. Lance, if you want me to pick some up for you, let me know. I think they are around $1.80something. As far as the red bugs, I don't know where I got them. I do know for a fact that regular dips won't get rid of them. Interceptor id the ONLY cure. I have not started the treatment yet because of this that and the other thing. Salt will be ordered this week and Interceptor will be picked up on Friday. I'll post an update and record my findings.

Yes, they, Wal-Mart in Crestview, carries Mrs Wages Pickling Lime. I will buy a bunch of it next time I am there and hand it over to you Lance. As for the pest issue, I started a new thread.

Nope, haven't heard of them before. That Blue Spot Jawfish is pretty cool looking, though. . .a bit much for me to be spending on a fish, but very cool.

I know that many of the Zeovit supporters were either kicked off or banned from these forums at one point. I'm not sure what the big stink was but it was along the lines of arguing about how zeovit is better? I looked into it. Seemed kind of expensive to set up and kind of a pain to me.

Those wave boxes would be great if they didn't mess with the overflow or possibly stress the tank beyond what it is used to, i.e., put undo stress on the seams of the tank.

Go get it. It's just down in Clearwater, FL. Drive another 1/2 hour or so and hit up Tampabaysaltwater.com for aquacultured rock from the Gulf.

I just spent a bunch of money here, and many of you may already be familiar with the place. Anyway, half the stuff is for industrial/scientific operations, but they have things like flexible and clear PVC, phytoplankton cultures and other fun items. Shop around.

You bet they will! Some will buy them because of bad or incomplete information. Others because they present a challenge. Many because they are pretty. It is however, good to know those fish which present potential problems, and what those problems may be. Unfortunately, the vast majority of those sold will be to people who aren't aware that there is any problem at all! A shame, but one that will certainly continue!

I think that's a good list, Chris. I don't think it's necessarily saying to never buy any of these fish, but some degree of caution and responsibility must be exercised if you choose to do so. I do wish it had more specific info on why certain fish are difficult to keep. Diet, aggressive and habitat don't really tell me much, but at least it prompts me to do a little research (which I should be doing anyway) if I don't already know why these are areas of concern.

As for being caught and bought, if enough people stop buying them, they'll stop catching them. Perhaps that's not a realistic expectation, but it has to start somewhere.

As of the late 70s it is against the law to catch dolphins off americas shores under the endangered spiecies act, unless fish and wild life rescue a stranded dolphin and deim it unrelesable,
