No trade necessary, Eileen.

Just tell me what you want from my tank. That's mostly how I do it nowadays

Guess that's how it was in the olden days of reefing?

Wow Rich. That tank has really evolved since I saw it a year and a half ago. Looks awesome!

Sorry to pop up again, but I had a revalation that I will have to admit defeat to the dark side of giving things silly names - for years I have been accusing Percnon gibbesi of being a "Sally Lightfoot Crab", which has to be the most ridiculous name out there. Bring on the wacky names, nothing will top sally lightfoot

You get a pass on the SallyLight foot. That name was given to them far before the trade took them as a MO item

He used to give away tons of Purple Leftytata. But then, that was when his handle was Lefty. I hope that lineage is still around. I've passed on quite a few 6" frags myself, but it ultimately crashed in my tank, courtesy of some @#%* buggers that loved to have it's tissue for lunch!

So what did I bring home? Only raffle winnings (2 from $20). That's it, I didn't participate in the swap this time.

I have a splotch of the original, and recently got another piece of it back (though it isn't thriving yet!). I know a bunch of people that still have it.

Well, I have to give you props, you are good at it. My first frag swap was the one at new alameda which you also did. And you and Mr.Ugly both stood out there too.

But it was an actinic light, not a blue light dang it!

Well they do do a sexy dance. The latin on them is pretty easy too - [i]Thor amboinensis[i].

BTW, the sally lightfoot crab is in reality a crab from Galapagos. Exporters from around the world started naming anything that looked like it the same thing on manifests.

Lets not get into the way corals are represented on the internet with the magic of lighting and color adjustments!

No, I meant at the swap, you cracked a joke because I was looking at the corals with a blu...errr..actinic light. It shows me the polyp color in a lack of lighting atmosphere.

And running T5s with 6 bulbs I have a good amount of constant actinic coloring then most halide tanks I have seen, so the light I had at the swap actually gives me a pretty good look at what I can expect....well except that orange polyped digi I got looked a lot better under that light, then my actual lights!
Hey I am new, don't pick on me yet!

I came home with:
7-8 head Teal CandyCane
Purple Monti (big)
Purple tip Cap (big)
Green Challice
Button Polyps
Zoos
Mushrooms

Bonus: Small Blue leg Hermit!

The frags I brought had floppy disk labels on top of Glad/Ziplock Tubs.

You're in line right after Eileen and all the people in this pic:

Just come over on a weekend afternoon. Then you can pick up some lavender candy cane. I don't want to drive all the way to SJ!

Stubbz, thanks for letting me know about the Pocillipora. I have it about 5" from the top of my tank under a 250W HQI. I think that should be enough light? The polyps are really pretty. In fact, my previous description wasn't very good, the polyps are tannish with almost a teal/turquoise green tips, and they are very long. You can hardly see the body it's so hairy!
Mines under 14K 250W DE's too and I would say it's slightly lower in the tank but not much. He's not bleaching.

Lamps are about 9 inches off the water if that makes any odds.

And yeah, he's not as hairy as the Acro Milli I took to the swap but because of the tightness of the structure of the Pocillipora he looks VERY hairy.

On the other subject running through the thread... I kinda like the silly coral names.
