Either next week, or first week in nov. I have to go out of town in 10 days for a week, so will not be about to move it then.

Hey Bil, the December Meeting will probably be at TimVs home.

As far as monsters go...heres the tank That Gary is working on....makes mine look like a baby....

im glad I have no pumps this size, 7 hp.

it was because of Gary's experience with large tanks I chose him to help with the design and layout of my new system.....as I said, this one makes mine look teeny weeny.

Isn't a Broken Arrow the term the government used when they lose a Nuke?

Paul,

It only took two of us to place the 500 gallon tank we place at the childrens place a few years ago. Granted we had a wide open space to work in and only one door to move it through.

Who is making your tank?

Eating?! Sleeping?! Using the restroom?! It's got to be one of those. I hope "shower" falls in there, too. All of this should occur, of course, after you set up that 600g tank!!!!

Seriously though, how are you going to do it? Just get the dry goods set up first? Will you do 600g of freshwater and then cycle it? Or will you dump everything over and then top off with fresh saltwater? Are you worried about kicking up any hydrogen sulfide from your sand?

Travis, the basic plan:

Rewire half the house
Build a stand (steel or wood)
Set Tank on Stand.
Begin plumbing
Modify garage to a fish room, fit AC unit shelves etc.
Buld 3 100g sumps interconnected. One for macroalgaes.
Add 500-600lbs sand (pre-cured by mixing with old tank water for a several weeks)
Finish plumbing
Add 600g water
Connect sumps and get water flowing
Connect new tank with old tank via the old tank sump.
Run both at same time to get same water conditions.
Add cured rock to new tank
Move old rock and livestock to new tank
Decommission old tank.
Move lights over to new tank
Build wall around stand/tank
build cabinetry for tank.
Pop a beer.

That sounds like one heck of a plan. How long are you expecting to have it take? Think it will be done by the end of the year?

Also, do you plan on adding any more rock?
