nice tank I read the first 5 pages and the last 17. 2 splits is waayyy too much read! but either way love the gliders and like your commitment. Wish i could get my wife in to this hobby! She has a NG12 she maintains with so much bubble algae it makes me sick. Thing is, she LOVES the bubble crud. Ehh whatever. Good job with everything! Oh and as far as lighting...I dumped my 2x150hqi's 14k for some 6x54w t5's by Solaris Executive pro. They should be here next Tuesday, I'll take pic of it and post it on my thread if you wanna see what it'll look like (little red house). I'm really gonna miss my shimmer. But I would rather have shimmer envy than to have to hook up my chiller again like I did this year and raise my elec bill by $30 a month!

Ever been 158mph on a bike with your wife riding with you? You could tear off the dented pieces of skin with her fingerprints on them.

It's not a bike if it's not over a liter

You know, I like the T5 lighting and all the benefits from it and if it wasn't for the shimmer effect and the color of the phoenix 14k that I love so much I would also switch over to T5's. I had thought about doing that anyway and keeping just an eel tank for my 75 since the MH won't fit in the canopy... who knows so many decisions!

It's a shame this hobby is so expensive!

Thank God it's winter time and there's little to do in the roofing industry right now.

Great thread NG - I love the detail and information in it. You are a new friend of mine... I don't have any on RC yet - lurking doesn't do much for that.

Anywho - a few splits back you were mentioning writing something up for your PBT Ocean, did you ever get around to that? I didn't recall seeing it.

Well back to nothing here today... *boredom set in*

Love the ferrets! That brown/black one is really nice How old are they? They are so much fun when you have two, hehe. I had an albino also but he died a year ago. Loki is still doing great. Losing some hair but then so is my husband, LOL

Thanks =)

You know I have like a dozen articles I wanted to write and put up on my website... but then I was like why bother nobody cares or wants my opinion so I didn't do it lol. But if you're interested in PBT's I'd be glad to help. I'm not an expert, but I do have a lot of time spent watching mine and I've learned a lot from it.

Stay tuned for yet another NG thread!.........

Okay, question.

My TDS meter was reading 6ppm so I changed the resin out and replaced it with fresh resin. The other filters are only a few months old. After making about 20 new gallons of water, my TDS is measuring 2ppm. Tap is over 200pm.

How can I get the 2ppm down to zero?

What, 2 isn't good enough for you?

What you want to know is how high the TDS is before the DI resin. Can you test that?

And how long did you let it run before you took a water sample? Did you sample it from a clean cup, or from the storage container?

I had similar issues. Had to replace the RO filter.

lol idk is 2 good enough?? Everyone always brags about 0 TDS... I want to brag too!

Hmm... I'm not sure how I could test that. If I take apart the filter and turn on the water I might be able to without it spraying all over. Sounds like a job for clown!

I did it 3 times. Immediately after it was like 6ppm. Then like 10 minutes later it was 3ppm. Then I made about 20g of water and it's reading 2ppm. I used a new plastic condiment cup that I stole from McDonalds lol.
