Just jumping in; what, exactly, are the hyposalinity parameters? How low should it be, and do you mix your own or dilute tank water? Not trying to hijack the thread, but I wanted to hear more about it.

I believe that gradually dropping the salinity to 1.010 is good for the hypo, I am just wondering about putting the fish back into the main display. Is that another process of several weeks to put salinity levels back up or just acclimation of 30-60min???
And as far as dropping the salinity down, I believes it putting in fresh RO water to the hospital tank, dropping it gradually over a period of 2 weeks...everyone says to make sure that you have a good hydrometer or refractometer! |

I usually drop my salinity in about 3 days to 1.010 - 1.009. Keep that for about 3 - 4 weeks. Then raise it in about 3 days back with the same params as the main tank.

I also don't want to seam like I'm jacking the thread but, how big a tank would someone need as a hospital tank for a medium sized yellow tang. And to also help the orinal poster how large would he need for all the fish he wanted to treat.
