I really doubt it's the glass. I have seen the same thing happen in my tank when I let my maintenance slide.

Carbon has always worked wonders for me. If you think ozone will work well for you, then I say go for it! If I could afford it, I too would like to try it one day to compare it to other methods of water clarification.

I'm curious now how many of you have tanks that have green tinted glass, or even tinted glass? only tinted tank i have ever seen was my 20L when i was a kid and got some window tint and put a big heartbeat across the front glass with pinstripes to match it. had the coolest Cinnamon clowns ever.

I just run carbon and a foam filter on my skimmer that is cleaned twice a week. My display is really clean from the side as well. I like looking at it from the end some times.

All aquarium glass is "tinted" unless it is starfire glass. It is common that the front pane only is starfire and the sides and back regular glass. I just don't see how the water can look clean from the front but green from the side only.

What affect does the higher lead content have on the glass?

wow look what i started with the run ozone comment. I run Ozone on my tank and now that i have it i don't think i would run a tank with out it. it does make the fish look like they are floating in air.

reduces clarity, not tint it green. Starfire is a lead free, low iron glass. pull the iron content out of Starfire and you've got crystal.
