Not quite 5wpg but if you use the standard 10gal incandescent hood w/ 2 coralife mini-fluorescent 50/50 bulbs, you'll have at least 4wpg.
I think you can get the 10gal aga aquarium w/ incandescent hood from Big Al's for $10.

The coralife lights are not the greatest but for a reefer on a budget they are good. I used them in a small frag tank I had setup two years ago and they worked well. Granted though, most corals had to be placed high in the tank but with the right supplementation I was getting excellent growth from my zoa frags.
So this seems like a feasible option when you are on a budget. Just remember the life span on these bulbs isn't that long. You will have to change them out before the year ends, they may last 7-9 months. But you could do this for 9 months until you can afford something better. The bulbs are only like 15 a piece I think. |

If this doesn't float your boat and if no one has any used stuff then you could always check out reefs edge. They have a used equipment section next door. They have a ton of lighting equipment. You shold be able to patch something together from there.

Hey Richard what do you need exactly? I would not add any livestock until you are sure everything is in line first.
What equipment fo you already have? |
