Looks cool

For clams and zoas 300 gph through a sqwid should be about right in that size tank. I'd recommend a dedicated pump for the return. I'd also recommend a small powerhead in the tank itself just in case the pump fails. I have Tunze minis in my ten gallon tanks for redundancy just in case.

Sorry I dont have a link, I just built it a year or so ago, and really didnt put together a thread. I do have some pictures, but I suck at taking aquarium photos.

I agree, that was my original choice, I think it will show off the colors better, I just wanted to be able to change it for some reason. Calvin came up with the idea to have them removable............what a concept. He comes up with better ideas than the big acrylic companies. You could work for them as a marketing or R&D guy eric, that would be a fun job.

To answer the bow question, no there is no bow at all at this time. Only time will tell if it continues to hold, but I really don't expect it to start bowing ever. As for R&D, if they would hire and pay me, I'd love to do it. I have so many darn ideas in my head and just don't have the time or the tools to build them all! LOL!!!

you don't think 250 watts is too much for this small of a tank?

That being said, I think it's a great idea.. good work calvin.

Not with Clams... 250 should be great for them. If it starts to become too much for the ric's then the pendant can be raised to help them acclimate to the intensity.

This tank is 12" deep right? What clams could possibly need more light than a 150 watt bulb on a 12" deep tank? ..Just trying to save the man some money on the power bill.

I think reefkoi already has a 250 just laying around. Im pretty sure with his 600 going, it wont make a difference in his power bill. LOL!

I agree 150 watts at a lower level would probably be enough But I had this pendant lying around and I love the look of the Phoenix 14K I dont know if I could get that with a 150 watt bulb.

Eric is on his way over, we should have it going in a few hours. I picked up an insane crocea today from Exotic Tropicals, I've never seen one with such a cool pattern and such intense turqouise.

Hopefully by dark it will have several ricordeas and 3-4 clams
AND yes dan I havent glued down your mic so I could put it in here, it will be easy to keep track of, and I dont want anything to happen to it, since it is not mine
I only hope its not too much light for the little guy.
I think I'll raise the pendant 20" above water to start with.

Gotta go, I'll take lots of pics and load them later!
Chris

OK shes full of water and running. Thanks to Eric Drew! we thrashed for a couple hours today and got it all working properly. 1st problem was the drain was done with a 3/4" threaded bulkhead. The Mag 3- 300 g.p.h pump was perfect for the 10 gallons, but it overflowed the tank. So we then ground the threads out of the bulkhead so it would flow more and upsized the drain pipe to 1-1/4" and then it was perfect.
Other than that everything went smooth. I love having the sqwid on there and the way the current alternates.
Heres the first shot of the tank filling, you can see the water returning from one side of the tank
[IMG][/IMG]

and then here the sqwid changes and it flows from the other side of the tank
[IMG][/IMG]

Next I add the first clam for the tank! Its a gorgeous crocea i got from Scott @ Exotic Tropicals today.
[IMG][/IMG]

The tank looked like it was a museum piece with the bare bottom. way to sterile for me what do you think?
[IMG][/IMG]

So i decided this tank was going to have a shallow sand bed for the clams to sit in, and for a more natural look.
[IMG][/IMG]

I have more pics and stuff but there you go for now
