How come you don't leave new corals in the coral only tank for 4 weeks then move the coral into one of your coral and fish tank. This way you will minimize your chances of introducing ich into your other systems.

Brandon,

It is unlikely you'll be able to find anything to kills the encysted parasites on the coral without affecting the coral. Leaving the coral in a tank without fish for 4 to 6 weeks is really the best method of getting rid of the parasites.

Treating the fish with copper in a separate tank will not cause any problems to your corals if you move those fish back to the tank with the corals. The copper will not leach off the fish. If you have calcium carbonate a tank when you treat with copper, it will absorb copper and this could leach out with a drop in pH, but it doesn't work that way with fish.

In my opinion, your best course of action is to move all the fish to a properly cycled treatment tank and treat with hyposalinity for 4 weeks. Given the time taken to lower the salinity at the start of the treatment and raise it at the end of the treatment, you will have left your main tank without fish for 5-6 weeks, killing off all the parasites there.
