I to did not beleive at first. how many watts is each bulb?
I think you could go with less watts and better reflectors. I am assuming if the reflectors come with it. it is a pendent of some brand. you could save a bunch of money by upgrading reflectors to like a lum III or something like that and lower the wattage. I would recommend 400W bulbs every 24 inches.

Hi welcome to RC.
 I have a 550 120 x 36 x 29. I use (4) 400 MH and 1 250 MH in the middle. I keep my PM and a few other lps and low lighting corals under the 250. I use LA III reflectors, and have great growth and colors on all my sps. You can use less bulbs with the LA III reflectors.
