new Csprings reefer

hi all. my name's blake and im a junior at the Air Force Academy. I'm from hawaii and have been help keeping up the honolulu aquarium along with my own tanks. you need a special permit there to keep a reef tank, and luckily i was working with the aquarium in a effort to propagate theirs. but now i am at the academy and cannot have a tank and i really miss it. i just found out that there were reefers in the area and LSFs too. nice to meet yall and hopefully i will get to know yall a bit better through reef keeping.

Where you live i.e. Falcon
Years in the hobby: 5
Specific interests, i.e. gobys, Clowns, Powder Blue Tangs.
Greatest accomplishment in reefkeeping: Had a small Powder Blue in my 70 Bowfront, He was the king of the tank, and would eat nori out of my had.
Greatest disapointment in reefkeeping: about 6 months after setting up my 70 bow, the fluval I had under it had it's return tube pop off the back of the tank and up against the wall. It drained 60 gallons onto the basement floor.... fortunatly all my livestock survived. I had just found this site, and wised up on setting up a tank. I removed the canister and wet dry filter, setup a 30 gallon sump with a protein skimmer, and fuge, removed the wall o rock that I had setup, and setup 2 nice islands. The tank flourished, and i gained the knowledge of how to do it right the first time.
Pictures of your tank (optional) here are some of my 70 bow...

Caleb, load up your pics into your gallery first. Make sure its no more than 100KB I believe. You have to resize the pic first if its bigger. I use Pixresizer to shrink my pics. Its free online. Once you have it in your gallery, you can upload pics from there. You can also use Photobucket.com to load up your pics too.

My name is Lin Duty. I have been in the hobby for 23 years. I currently reside in Colorado. . The reason I want a store is because I love the hobby and feel everyone should be able to enjoy the beauty and mystery of salt water tanks in there homes and offices. Over the years I have studied all types of fish (Fresh and Salt Water) and their environments. I love learning about the hobby and I love even more helping others become more knowledgable. I feel it is important to research any type of fish you own or plan on owning in the future. It makes for a happy and very healthy, safe environment for you and your fish. The main reason I like posting ad reading is to educate others about the dangers of some of the fish we deal with on a daily basis (ex: scorpions/lionfish/rock fish etc). Nothing is more heartbreaking than to read about someone who was not informed and has suffered as a result of lack of knowledge. I try to educate my family about the danger in our own tanks. I have a predator tank, a shark tank, seahorse, and several reef and breeder(firefish/percs) tanks. (don't kill me over this) Hopefully one day I will have my octopus and some cuddle fish. as of nat my tanks are not all up and going i just moved to the Springs and still puting the tanks to gether.
