The solid oak trim for the canopy cost more than anything in my tank. And that was around $60.

My beautiful blue/pink caulustrea was a gift from an ex, and it was $49.99 it's doubled in size in a year and has provided me with many frags to trade with. Most of the corals in my tank came from those trades!

My acan was free. Rics were $5, or trade for another ric. . .

RIP expensive fish

$70 purple tang (died in QT, I actually cried over that one)
second is sunburst anthias for $45 (no longer have that one either, simply up and disappeared. have since decided to only go with less expensive livestock due to murphy's law.)

I assume we are talking about livestock only right? I would have to say the most expensive ones have been a mystery wrasse for $99 and a peppermint hogfish that disappeared overnight for $120.

Have to say I feel a little better about not being the only one who has had a newly added expensive or long awaited fish disappear overnight. Just had my Vermiculite Leopard Wrasse disappear for 3 days after introduced to the main tank, and was finally found under a rock dead. Total cost $58 plus shipping. Not my most expensive, but a fish I was waiting for forever.

Yep thats a pic of my baby. I think the conspic is the most elegant fish in the oceans. I just wish the prices would come down so more people would by them.

$500 for 20kg of live rock.
And if that doesn't count, about $1 for two Trochus snails.

I ordered a box of 75lbs of live rock for my tank... Ended up with a piece in there weighing in at 33 pounds. There's $200 for a big piece of rock that hurt my wallet and then my back (and almost killed me when the ladder almost toppled lowering it into the tank ).
