Good morning guys! Things are looking pretty good. I'm still trying to figure out how to stop the blowing sand. I'm turning the nanostreams until I find the flow I'm looking for in certain areas and to stop blowing out bare spots.

I'm not sure how much of a cycle I'll have. I did use old water that the rocks have been sitting in for about 3 weeks along with some new water. We'll see.

Skimmer is quiet and working good. I am playing around with a mod so we'll see what it does.

Is that base rock or rock from your 210?

What bulbs are you running for the 250mh's? What t5's?

It's Marshall Island rock that I had in my 210. In total, it's only about 80lbs.

For bulbs, I'm running 2) 250W Giesemann SE 14K coral bulb and 4) 54W Giesemann actinic + bulbs. The 14K puts out a solid bright white and the actinic+(blue) adds a nice touch. It's a pretty nice combo.

I want to get some t5's in my hood too just hope i have room to fit them. The next tank i do will be wider for sure, opens up a ton more possibilitys.
Is that starfire glass you have?

Getting a wider tank does open up a lot of possibilities. I never thought having the extra 7" of depth would do that much but it makes a huge difference.

Yeah, the tank is low iron glass. Elos calls it crystal. Starphire is a brand name from PPG. There's also diamante glass. Whatever you want to call it, it's all low iron glass.

I can't tell you how clear it is yet since I'm waiting for my sand storm to clear and for the cloudiness to go away. It's getting better but still not where it should be yet.

BTW, that is one CLEAN set-up you have going there!! I only wish that my tank was that cleanly set up!

Yeah, mine too! I plan to diversify my tank a little more this time around. I definitely like SPS a lot more but I want to mix it up more than I have in the past. I have about 13 acan frags waiting for me so that'll help mix things up a little.
