Thanks for the offer, Davidryder is going full steam on it, he might need a hand as it's a lot of work, if you can, send him a PM and see if he needs help with some of the coding.

Robby thanks for your work on the comparison chart.

I have some questions regarding PC software and the various controllers. Profilux Plus, for example, permit data saving 500 ? data points within the controller itself. Can these data points be easily uploaded into say Excel or a database? Is the uploaded data "open" enough to transfer to a third party software? Can it continually upload datapoints to a PC and bypass the 500 mark limitation? What is the quality or features of the supplied software?

Hey Rob, I've been following this thread since page 2 or so, again many thanks goes out to you and everyone else that has put the time and energy into this project, i think this is top 5 threads on RC.

Anyone here going to IMAC next month? also anyone interested in helping me out create a website for my newly acquired retail store in NY? PM me, thanks, and hopefully I'll be meeting some of you at the show next month.

Any new info on the biomatix??

Marsh
Most high end controllers can output the Data to a PC, it's usually saved as a Text file. This data can easily be imported into Excel and viewed. As for continually sending the Data to the PC that all depends on the controller. Some units have 3rd party PC applications written for them that can do that, others depend on web software. The quality of the software really depends on the vendor and it's very hard for me to give you an answer.

Thanks for the top 5 compliment
I just talked to Biomatix today, they say that the controller is about 3 weeks from delivery and that they are assembling the components right now. I got no further info.

NEW REDESIGNED CONTROLLER WEBSITE IS UP.

www.aquariumcontrollers.com

It's been a whole lot of work by DavidRyder but the first phase of the website is complete. Much more will come in the next few weeks, fixing the bugs and incomplete sections but for now I just wanted to share the excellent work done by David with you guys.
Also a Special thanks to JDieck for creating the new interactive comparison chart.

Thanks again David.

I have a quick excel question. Can someone tell me how to keep the top line to stay visible when I scroll up or down in my spreadsheet? I tried googling it but couldn't even figure out the correct terms.

the new site looks great.. I downloaded the comparison but I think because I am just using an Excel viewer, it doesn't do the interactive stuff.

What I find amazing about the data shown, is that so many of these controllers really have very few features. I wouldn't even think of buying one that doesn't have ethernet capabilities built right in, because for me, a primary use of a controller is alerting me to a problem.

Melev just Select the Row Below the one you want froozen then go to "Window / Freeze Pane" and that should lock everything above.

Marc, it should do that automatically. you must have the scroll turned off somehow.

Many of the controllers have built in Ethernet and webserver, even some of the low priced units like the Lighthouse have it.
If your primary thing is being alerted then what you are really looking for is a controller with SMS.

Wow, RobbyG you have taken this to next level. I just ordered my new controller and the information you provided made my choice easy.

Thanks
