To the dismay of my wife, I decided to move the tank, by myself. I'm too dang old to lift much more than a glass, so work smart...not hard is my motto. Here she goes....

Only had to go aobout 60 feet on the furniture dollies.

On the way.

Almost home.

Time for the lift. Took a while but went quite well. Guess how I did it.

Tanks slide easily on plastic.

And there she is being leak tested. So far so good (touch wood).

Great looking tank! My guess is you used the floor jack one block at a time?

Shoot...I thought you would guess I used my extreme masculine physique and just lifted it up. Pictures tell 1000's of words, don't they?

ebolii (did you mean ebola?), Just plan to keep plumbing and finish the room. I have no time line.

Sorry I didn't mean to steal the thunder on that one! I would imagine some considerable amount of muscle power was used to originally lift it onto the dollies.

Del,
What did you use on the wood on the outside of the tank (for the top coat)? I looked back in the thread, but can't find it. Is it just more West System?
It looks beautiful.

Thanks JMA1978
I used 4 coats of McCloskey Man O'War Marine Spar Varnish. Real good UV protection. I've had it on my drift boad for 15 years. Good stuff.

SIMPLY AMAZING! Wow.

I hope when I finally find a woman to settle down with- she is as "understanding" as your wife!

Great job man. Can't wait to see what the future holds!

Haven't decided exactly how to do the canopy. Need to think on it. But, I could use some advice.

The tank is 4" from being full. No structural leaks that i can find. It didn't even creak or groan. There is no deflection in the front with the angle iron.

BUT, does anyone have a good trick to sealing threaded joints to prevent seaping? I used threaded ball valves this time so I could easily replace and maintain them. I have a few slow leaks through the threads even with lots of teflon tape.

Ideas? Tricks?

If the leaks aren't that bad, just let em go...they'll seal themselves in about a week. the salt creep does a nice job sealing slow leaks.
