Something's fishy here (pun intended). I just finished reading posts from you Acan experts saying that these corals are so rare in the US because they can't be imported legally, and arrive only as mislabled corals. Yet this LFS dude is supposedly able to score "4 lord and one solid orange with green eye echinata from indonesia. The largest of the lords has appx. 90 polyps." Then he has supposedly sold them as whole colonies for $300-400 each.
Why wouldn't he frag them up (like Atlantis Aquarium did) and sell the frags at the going rate of $60-100 per polyp? That 90 polyp piece could have fetched up to $9k alone if fragged up. Doesn't seem like savy business move to me. Ah, you gotta love rumors ... Jeff |

Most of the lordhowensis I've seen have stripes. Even if it's just a slight difference in color, they have those striations from the mouth out to the perimeter of the polyp. Look at all three pic's of Marlo's lords. The red and gray is the most obvious. The small green ones have a little green stripe, almost a white look. The solid red even has a little bit of gray striping. They can look more solid when they puff up, and have the mouth completely closed. That is just hiding the striping.
Now look at the orange hillae. They have more of a random blotching.

Ooops. I see now Kevin, you were asking for an opinion on that coral, not making a statement that your lord has stripes.
My bad.
