Interesting Thread!!! I'm really enjoying it. Have you seen the thread from guy in Italy ( I believe) he did something similar...it wasn't a pond but rather an outdoor tank using the sun for natural light, etc. It was pretty sweet. I wish I could remember where I saw that thread.

Cool project I was born in Westminster and graduated from Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, although I agree to a point with some on the tempertaure it DOES NOT get that cold there I know southern calis seem to think so but Northern CA GETS COLD and here in Washington it snows so we are talking teens and twenties not 50's... I am more concerned what you are going to do to keep the temps down I know of several summers in GG that were well into the 90's and that water temp WILL RISE I had a much larger Koi Pond when I lived there and the temps will get into the stable high 70's low 80's which is tropical temps so keep an eye on that... lets see some updated pictures...

haha so do i...lol...havent seen this in forever

yea unfortunatly i found out why my gobies disapeared...they are short lived

and

yea something happened to my Garibaldi...well i think the story ends with the lobsters eating it...i was sad when i came home from vacation in san diego with 3 sting rays to put in my pond with it and it wasnt there...

so yea

thats my update

i caught a shovelnose shark...dying....and died overnight...

3 sting rays...still have them...1 lasted 3 nights in a cooler with at least 3Xdaily water changes and an air pump

oh and (at least 2ft across) Bat ray...unfortunatly too big

it was the scariest fishing experience ive ever had...

night fishing with waders in water that i couldnt even see a foot down into the water with things splashing mere feet from me...
like that batray...i caught it as i was reeling in and the bait was no more than 6ft away and all of a sudden my line shoots out...

good times though
