A little history on the SEAS

It was February 2004 that Leslie and Anthony Martinez decided to start a group that consisted of others who loved the saltwater hobby as much as they did. One of the things we have loved the most about this group, is being able to visit other people’s homes and reef tanks each month. Some of us love the “techie” side of the hobby and others love the simplicity. It’s great to see the variety of aquascape and set-ups as this is what inspires others also.
Our group existed not because of a single person or persons, but as a group. I believe that you never come to a place in this hobby where learning ceases. We have people in our group who have been in the hobby for decades, some who have just started, and everywhere in between.

A group of reefers in the Springfield area who are willing to share experiences, are interested in coral propagation, and are dedicated to helping each other on the road to successful reefkeeping.

Who are The SEAS?
Established in March 2004, the Saltwater Enthusiasts Association of Springfield is an organization of marine hobbyists brought together by the desire to promote a better understanding of the life we keep in our marine aquariums. Our focus is to increase the longevity of marine life in a controlled environment and to encourage that life to propagate freely. Only through education and the sharing of ideas can we expect a future for our hobby. Anyone interested in advancing these goals is invited to join.
Meetings generally begin with a short review of club business, moving on to the main program and then to an open discussion among members present. Everyone is welcome to bring their questions and/or problems to the club for help and most discussion topics originate this way.
So, regardless of whether you’re a beginner, an “old salt”, a fish-only person, or a reef maniac, the Saltwater Enthusiasts Association of Springfield has something in it for you.
