Cube tank stand
Hey guys!
Well this is my first DIY project. A couple of friends are helping me with it but, could anybody please give me some pointers on how to build a stand for a cube tank? The exact dimensions are 30x30x15 (LWH). Anyways, i just need to do the frame, i have some plans for the rest. I'd appreciate it! Thanks! Diego

Hi clownReef.
I have built a number of stands for 24x24x24 tanks out of oak plywood. built more less just like a kitchen base cabinet. there are a varity of construction methods, i used a biscut joiner for the one pictured. but you can use dados or other! hope this helps |

I used four 4"x4" Posts for support and then I framed it with 2"x4" top and bottom then I used .5" ply wood to skin it!

You don't need to use 4x4s for a 58 gallon tank. You would probably be able to get away with 1x4s for the frame if you built it right.

You're going to want to incorporate 2x4 wood in your construction.

I built a stand for a 48" square, and I built it like a house except 12" on center instead of 16. I double studded the corners, and used onle 2x4s -its all you really need. I used half lap joints, and it will hold a car... The big thing that you want to prevent is racking or the stand turning into a parallelogram.
