Rich worked in the retail pet sector from 1995 to 1998 when he signed on with the Newport Aquarium, which was under construction at the time. Over four years in Kentucky Rich worked his way up to Aquatics Curator before moving to the Pittsburgh Zoo's PPG Aquarium. In his role as Aquarist at Pittsburgh Rich specializes in tropical marine fishes and invertebrates, including coral propagation.
