Nice tank Jordan! Looking foward to seeing it filled up and circulating. Trick mod with the Tunze, I see the zip tie (nice and clean though) but it dang near looks like its snapped in there! Very straight, looks like it was meant to go there

Lookin good.......
are you going to go BB on this one? Looking at your cabinet......I didn't leave enough room for electrical stuff to be safely tucked away inside, so its visible on the outside.....plan enough room for equipment additons now so when you add a controller, ozone etc later on.......you have the space unlike me.

Thanks guys! I'll be going with a 1" sand bed. There is actually more room than it looks like. Once the tank is full I'll be taking the salt bucket out and adding a ATO container. I'll also be mounting the power center on the wood panel to the right. I installed a new GFCI before I put the tank in place. More to come...

I like the tunze and seaswirl idea.
I love tank builds. I kind of live vicariously through them. I get the same excitement as when I first started this addiction. haha Keep up the good work! Jay

Thanks Jay! My favorite part of this hobby is building different systems. I got my reflectors in yesterday and realized that the VHOs were going to be too close to the water. Today I took the reflectors into the metal shop class and had them cut off the VHO part of the reflector. They did an AWESOME job! It's all nice clean cuts, the reflector wasn't bent or scratched, and the bottom isn't sharp at all. Now I just have to mount everything. Everything is now plumbed so the tank shound be filled this weekend.

Got my baffle made and siliconed in place, my lighting mounted in my canopy and everything hooked up. The only problem was half my PFO VHO dual ballast wouldn't work. I called up PFO today and they were kind enough to send out the new ballast and a shipping label before I returned my defective one. Awesome customer service over there. On the other hand premium aquatics was a PITA to get ahold of when my socket came in broken. I guess I'm having quite a bit of bad luck with lighting. New pictures soon.

Hey Jordan,
The last photo looks like the tank is downstairs. Is this one not going upstairs? John

Any specs on how your MH par values are affected by your patented electrofleshing process? (j/k, obviously)
Looks good, can't wait to see the final setup.

What did you use to paint your tank?

following along on what looks to be a nice tank build.. what size ss are you using with your flare-y fitting and stream mount? have you tried out the flare-y, how does it work in terms of flow restriction?

Thanks Brooke!
Elite, I used black spay paint for plastic otterpop510, thanks. I'm using a 3/4" SS. The flare Y advertises that it does not restrict flow but the flow isn't great. I may switch out the flares for a regular round output nozzle. |

Jordan, you saw my split flares. It still allows you to cover the whole tank and gives you the fleibility to kill dead spots. I might even have some. I know I have some Y's and other various necks.

Mark, I think I want to switch over to how you currently have it (on a Y with the stock output nozzle) I have all the parts to do it, I'm still thinking about it though.
Elite, It works great! I also used it for my 10 gallon nano. Here are some pics of the rock I got in the bay area. I still have some big pieces to add and lots of aquascaping to do. I just threw them in there for now. That HUGE piece in the right is a big plate piece of rock. I just have it leaning on the wall for now. It will look sweet when I aquascape it correctly.
