Primer whatever surfaces are being glued together. If a piece of PVC is going inside another piece or fitting, then you need to primer the inside of that piece.

At least PVC is cheap. My very first time ever with handling plumbing and PVC was with trying to plumb my 120g. It was interesting, and a few things took a few tries, but I managed to get it to work...and it's still working today, two years later. It's amazing the things this hobby has opened me up to.

Put pencil marks at all the joints and mark numbers if you have to.
A digital camera helps also.lol |

Well,as long as you don't have something that resembles a kaflukkka from Dr. Seuss you'll be alright.

Shooter7 I agree plumbing was a bit of a challenge but I sure learned alot by plumbing a tank people are still amazed when I show them under my tank. Actually I am still amazed when I look under my tank. One thing to remember is to make sure that you put union and ball valves were needed union most importantly. Also what I did is i put everything together the way that I wanted and then I took a marker and marked how far pieces were suppose to be slid into the other piece of pvc. This is helpful because you dont want to glue 5 pieces together and then end up short on one end or whatever.
