whats best way to light 36x36x24 tank?
i need help deciding the best way of lighting my tank. it will be 75% sps. i was thinking two 250W lumenarc minis or one 400 on a lumenarc. i was also planning t5 supplementation as well along the front and side panels. im trying to do this as efficient as possible. all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem deciding on my 48x48x29 tank. The problem i had with one big light over the center is the coverage around the rocks and stuff. The more lights you have, the more consistant coverage you will have, and less shady spots. I ended up with 4x250's on my tank, if money was no object, i would probably go with 4x150's or 2x250's. Its hard to light a cube effectivly, expecially if you have your rock work centralized to look good on three sides.

I would go with the 400 in a lumenarc, should provide good cover and will be great for an SPS tank.

36x36x24 is the perect size for a single Halide. A 250W 10k in a luminarc + t5 Blue+ suppliments would be very energy efficient. There would be no wasted light as you have with 18" wide tanks.
