Update on Abused Kitten with *PICS*
I went to see the kitty today, which has been named Stilts. She is doing very, very well at the vet's and is allowed to roam the office when there are no appointments. She LOVES the other cats and dogs they have as office pets.
The vet is amazed at her progress saying that she chases the other cats around, and plays all the time. She has even started jumping up on things which they can not believe she is able to do with the injuries she sustained. The muscles through her pelvis have developed substantially since I brought her in a month ago. Both femurs were dislocated and fractured. She said what will happen most likely is that the heads of the femurs will actually dissolve and the muscles in the hind end will make up for the lack of joint. She definately has neurological impairment and they aren't 100% if it's brain damage or nerve damage in her neck. Her head tilts a little bit and you can see sometimes she isn't 100% sure where her front paws are. The vet said this may improve with time, or may not. Regardless of all of this she is a VERY happy cat, that puurrrrs and purrrrs She uses her litter box like a good girl (shallow and wide one) and has a good appetite. Her fur has grown back on her head from where Evil Child shaved her, and the hair that grew back over the cut grew in white. Looks like someone dropped some white out there! But the most important thing is, our very own Nancy King has offered to take Stilts in and give her a forever, loving home. So our lil kitty will get the love and affection she missed out on for the first 9 months of her life. I am sure Nancy will more than make up for it! So here are the pictures of Stilts... She's SO very curious, and had to inspect my kitty as soon as I put her down. Here's her lounging and preening herself. You can still see her hips a bit but they have filled in a lot in a short amount of time. And here she is, a happy lil kitten So this story will have a very happy ending, thanks to the help and support of the Loungers!! This little girl has so much spirit, and still so much love and trust even after all she has been through- if only I could have so much strength! She's an amazing little girl.
