Interesting observation
About two weeks ago I had given all of my Zoas in my prop tank a Furan-2 dip for Zoa pox. The ones that were really suffering are all making a comeback after a 3 day course of the medication. The others that were not showing signs were given the dips as well just as a preventative measure. I used about a quart of tank water to one packet of Furan for 20 minutes. This was done for 3 consecutive days.
What I found most interesting was that one of the frags (baseball sized rock) was almost completely covered with Bryopsis. I have pulled it, fresh water dipped it...all to no avail. After the second day this rock was dipped in the solution, the bryopsis started to die off. The third day was the kicker, the bryopsis totally dissolved. To this day the Bryopsis has not returned and the Zoas that were on that rock are alot happier and opened up. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I know Bryopsis can be problematic to the point of being a plague, so if what I have observed with mine could be a clue as to how to erradicate this little weed. Just my two cents.... Rich |
