power heads?
Is it possible to have to much air flow? I had a hydo korilla #2, 2 maxi 1200 power heads, protein skimmer, and a neon led light that has a small powerhead attached to it (similar to the volcano in the movie finding nemo).
Thanks

The hydor koralia gives you 600gph, the mj1200's give you 300gph each, so you're only sitting at about 1200gph right now, or 13x turnover. Most reefers shoot for 20-40x. You're nowhere near that; so too much isn't your worry

too much air flow or water flow? Can't have too much air flow IMO, but it'll get awfully unsightly with all the current neccessary for a reef. you'll end up with bubbles everywhere, and if ya got air pumps or simlar running and don't have bubbles everywhere, probably don't have enough flow to begin with.
Too much water flow?, definatly. But alot of that depends on the type of flow and the type of livestock you're dealing with. Acro's can take loads of flow but stick the same on a mushroom, may not appreciate it much. That said, doubt you have too much flow....looks like not nearly enough to me. FWIW, I have a 75g with 2 x Koralia #3's, decent flow, but probably will go with more due to more sps in this tank, another 75g with 2 x koralia #2's, I'm happy with this but do have some dead spots not receiving sufficient flow but the lower flow corals that fill this tank are doing just great. Shrooms and leathers and similar only. Don't count your skimmer as "flow' for the tank. Nor any "decoration". Count your return pumps (if a sump/fuge is used) and your powerheads or closed loop pumps if used.

How about for a fish only tank that is 90 gallons? What would you suggest for air flow? I have a hydo korilla #2, 2 maxi 1200 power heads, protein skimmer, and a neon led light that has a small powerhead attached to it (similar to the volcano in the movie finding nemo). Right now my tank has a small bubbles in it.

For a fish only system, you can get away with alot less WATER flow than a reef tank, but if you plan to use live rock and a FOWLR setup for filtration, then you'll want a little better flow than just fish only, no live rock. Corals need good flow to bring them the oxygen and other nutrients in the water column, fish can swim and get what they need, but still require water movement/surface movement to keep oxygen in the water for them. Also, water movement is nice in helping our filters to work properly. Assuming no live rock and just a canister filter or HOB or similar, you'll need enough flow to keep particulate matter and other "gunk" in suspension till the filter can remove it. You're current water flow is probably enough for that.
